Sometimes people choose a middle name for their child because it means something special to them. For instance, a man named John may have been named after a grandfather or a father who died when he was young.
Sometimes parents choose a middle name for their child because they want to honor someone who is important in their life. For example, a woman named Mary may have been named after her mother.
