Names Like Darcy: Insights from around the web

Here are some quotes from various sites that talked about similar names ideas for Darcy:

I like Lila and Charlotte but Charlotte is pretty popular where we live so I’m not so sure about it right now

I like Isla, Ruby, Alice, Lucy, and Dahlia! However with the exception of Dahlia, all of them are pretty popular where we live which makes me a bit nervous

I like Freya though it is fairly popular too! Should I just forget anything about the popularity of the names or could it have some importance?

Popularity wouldn’t be a concern if you LOVED a name and you’d regret not using it. That doesn’t seem to be the case with any of those, though.

I know that Rosie and other -ie names are common and normal as we live in the UK (though I am from America) but it just doesn’t seem fit as a full name to me.

Louise Anne is a perfect name. Its cute for a little child but also ages well into a beautiful and mature adults name. it also flows really well and looks good written down. but that’s just my opinion.

How about Alice? If you want a really girly, cute, sweet, feminine classic, fresh and elegant go with Alice!

I don’t like the sound of Genie at all and for some reason it makes me think of the Disney movie Aladdin

Have you ever thought of using a double barrel first name. in my opinion if you used Darcy-Anne as a full first name then it sounds much girlier. or maybe Darla-Anne or just Darla as a first name

A double first name wouldn’t do much to make me like Darcy.

Lilly would be my suggestion if you want a ‘y’or an ‘ie’ ending sound in the name.

Daria if you are looking for a name beginning with D.

Ismay if you are looking for a more uncommon name

Anyway, if you are set against using it then I love Scarlett, I think it’s very beautiful.

Have you thought of more old fashioned names to go with Albert? Such as Evelyn, Matilda, Cora, Greta, Harriet, Meredith, Hattie, Cordelia?

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Darcy goes all that well with Albert anyway. Albert is a classic and Darcy is more modern.

I agree with other posters that there are plenty of girls names that are more attractive than Darcy – Verity is a much classier name.

I agree with the suggestion of Verity as an alternative to Darcy and I personally prefer this name to Darcy and think it is much classier and goes better with Albert

I personally wouldn’t use it. I also agree that it is a different style to Albert so would look for something more classic if you are trying to “match”. Verity is lovely (much nicer than Darcy in my opinion – good job we don’t all like the same things)

I wouldn’t use it, it would feel far too cruel especially as she is struggling. While no one owns a name I would still never want to hurt my close friend and if she’s mentioned that she really likes that name I definitely wouldn’t use it.
